Medford parishioners celebrated their mission of mercy Sunday after returning from Mississippi where they rebuilt houses for Hurricane Katrina victims.
Eleven Assembly of God Church members volunteered their time to help construct six homes in seven days in Biloxi. New York City Firefighter Dean Tataro, of Holtsville, says he was inspired to roll up his sleeves after working at Ground Zero. Parishioner Herma Robinson surprised herself by learning skills like tiling and installing door locks. Youth pastor Matthew Greco says it was especially fulfilling to meet a little boy who will get to move out of a trailer and back into a house because of the church?s efforts.
The Assembly of God Church plans to make another trip to Mississippi next year.
