Homicide detectives believe the deadly shooting in Manhasset Thursday was not a random act of violence.
According to police, 24-year-old Marcus Randle was gunned down in his car around 1 a.m. in a parking lot on Pond Hill Road. The incident occurred in the Spinney Hill Housing Complex, where Randle lived.
Randle was taken to North Shore University Hospital, where he later died.
Police said evidence leads them to believe Randle was targeted, but did not specify a motive. Family and friends said Randle was a good person, who had a job and girlfriend. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
