Suffolk County police are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman found in the garage of a Bay Shore home Tuesday morning.
Authorities say the owner of the home on 1746 Stein Drive called 911 after finding his tenant, Walter Corea, 31, and a young woman dead in the garage with a car running. The woman has been identified as Santos Rios Vasquez. Police say Corea was found on the floor and Vasquez was in the passenger seat of the vehicle.
Corea?s family says he shared the house with six other people and that his 13-year-old son was visiting from Honduras. Police say the couple was in the garage for some privacy when they were overcome by carbon monoxide.
Suffolk Detective Lt. Jack Fitzpatrick says, ?There is nothing to indicate that this was a suicide, a murder-suicide, nothing along those lines."
Six other residents were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.
