Well, Friday means we're visiting Main Street this morning news. New Jersey's Tony Caputo is live in South Amboy. Starting the morning off with, uh, a little bagel, Tony a little bit. These are great, man. These are good thing. What a way to start a Friday here. Main street in New Jersey. We're Jem's House of Bagels. Then Calio open the door at 5 a.m. The line has been non stop since he started. Then he's busy and he's got to talk to us right now. Then how you doing, Bob? That was a good throw in our tes earlier, man. Not bad football season's coming. A guy could play QB, law enforcement behind us here as well. So we appreciate what you do, man. Thank you very much. How long you been here? How long have you been running Jen's house in Vegas? A year and a half last January. But the shop has been here for how long the shop's older than me later. You'll see how long you been? 96 96 96. So it's a mainstay here in South Amboy. Mainstay. I see people like this guy every day. How you doing, buddy? It's been nonstop since he opened the door. Everybody, one after the other after the other, the gentleman just left ordered all kinds of stuff. I mean, look at the deliciousness that's going on right here right now. What is this then? Oh, those are Jalapeno cheddar bagels, bagels. They look fantastic. And we got the variety of bagels going on over here as well. I mean, you got all kinds. I got an all everything bagel. I'm gonna get Vin to put some cream cheese on this for us. Uh, Ben, this is obviously the place to start your day when you're talking South Ambu. Right, right in here. 5 a.m. every morning, every more, every day. Oh, my goodness. Day. I'm going to sleep in tomorrow. I can't do this every day. They're out here every day. Can I get a little cream cheese on here to go? Fantastic. Hey, it's main street in New Jersey. We're in South Amboy this morning. We're bouncing all over town. Back inside now looking like you have a nice little cup of coffee there. Tony. I think I got me a little cappuccino here from Castro is the owner of Java Dave's coffee. Good morning. My friend. How are you? You just made this up for us? What did you make for me? I'm going to get you to make another one for our old Pal Rudy boat out there on the camera. I just drink. It is fantastic. I've been enjoying it. If you can make one up for us, we'd appreciate that. This is a beautiful little shot when we're talking Main Street. This is what you're talking about here. Fantastic. You come on in, sit down, get yourself a little cup of coffee after and you told me you opened up in 2019 and you made it through the pandemic. How did you manage that? It was kind of hard at the beginning. We got used to it and then we adjusted it and you know, day by day, we made it through and thank God we make it better right now. It's much better than those days before. Fantastic. Good to hear. And there's no doubt about that. Is this your number one seller when it comes to coffee? Yes, absolutely. People really like it. It's Lauren's birthday who works with us here at News. 12 New Jersey. I understand you made her a big cake. Is that true? Happy Birthday. Happy birthday. Lauren. Actually, there's some delicious treats here, Lauren. So if you want one, I'll get Rudy to get it for you and bring it back for your birthday. That would be nice. Look at that. Look what E made here. I'm feeling good and I feel like reading. So I need to get some new cheaters. So I can actually see. So we're at Maduro drug store and uh a pharmacy and you can't beat this. The history of this place is amazing. By the way, I know Sima, I, I look good. I get it. Don't worry about it. Let me bring in Anne and they run the show here. Ann has been around uh, for quite some time. Her uncle Mike started it in 1952 1952 with my aunt Sophie Medora. I was working with him since I was a kid. I became licensed in 1980 worked with him until his death in 2009. And then I handed the baton over to in 2016 Troop. You recognized a good business going on here and you got involved in the business as well and you decided to come in and, and buy the pharmacy. Yeah, Absolutely. As Anne mentioned, we are locally owned community pharmacy dedicated to providing the best customer care possible Madura Pharmacy. You can count on that personal attention we give by our caring and professional staff. We provide a variety of services including the conventional prescription filling. We provide most immunizations. It's Friday and that means we're visiting Main Street, New Jersey this morning news, New Jersey's Tony Caputo in South Amboy at an antique shop. So Tony, what do they have there? Are we seeing any vintage baseball cards, maybe? Yeah, she does have baseball cards. Nick Renee Banks is the owner of Broadway. You know, so much more. I mean, you just saw Howie Duty there and we do have baseball cards as well. But I mean, it is dramatically more than either one of those things. Renee, this shop is fantastic. I told you I came in and it just blows my mind to see some of the incredible furniture you have here and everything else. But I mean, this is really an eclectic collection. Tell us about your business and why it was so important to you. Good morning. And thank you for coming in, uh Broadway and is a shop that has lots of curiosities and antiques and a little bit of new things to our model is to be cycled, be purposed and to be used. So we just try to give something to everybody I saw on a show once a home improvement show. Uh, the guy said the best furniture I find is furniture that people throw away and it looks like you have so much nice, real refurbished furniture here that somebody could, you know, put in their entire house. Absolutely. Absolutely. You can furnish your house from bathrooms, kitchens, basements outside indoors. We have a little bit of everything. You got great signs too. Wine makes everyone hopeful. Aristotle. Yes, absolutely. I love that. What, what, what is, uh, what, what is it about doing this that you love so much? And you want people to understand when they walk into the store, there's something to be said for just bringing life back to an old item. Instead of throwing things into the recycle bins or into the dumpsters that people can enjoy things that were made well with love, beautiful colored glass, beautiful dovetailed furniture pieces, no nails, no screws, just nice things. And if it's old, a little beat up, you can give it a little bit of love and I sell the Dixie Bell paint and you can paint furniture so we can do a lot with old things. We know that sound. It's Friday and that means we're visiting main street in New Jersey. You sell New Jersey's Tony Caputo in South Amboy, Tony coffee bagels, antiques. And now where are we at this morning? How about, how about Taylor Ham, egg and cheese or pork roll, egg and cheese, whatever you want to argue, that's up to you. Look at this beautiful place. This is the South Amboy Deli and subs owners are Abdul, Kasim and Caprice Kasim. Let me tell you something. They have been here. 30 years, started with an older building. They developed it, made it bigger. They've been married more than 30 years, right? Caprice. I mean, that's a real story here. 35 years, 33 34 in that area. And you're doing all right, you're doing all right. Now, you're gonna make a couple of staples here, a couple of classics here for uh Jersey. What, what do you got Taylor Ham, egg and cheese, pork roll, egg and cheese. What do you prefer to call it? Pork, roll, egg and cheese, pork, roll, egg and cheese. There you go. You make a lot of these every day. About 50 100. Sometimes. How many, about 50 of them? Like that's amazing already, like you say, fantastic. You keep cooking that up. Rudy will show it off for you. Oh, you think you're done? You think you're all done? You're not done? Not yet. Not yet. What is it about this place? I mean, you tell me every sign you have on the wall, your customers have brought in and they give them to you, I guess where you feel like make them feel at home, make them happy. You know, we try anyway, you can't make everybody happy. But yes, when they go on vacation they bring me signs, they bring me pictures. You must be doing something right, for them to do that. Right. I've seen their Children grow up and have Children. I mean, you know, 30 years, we already have grandchildren in the store from their original mother. So, yeah, it's been a while. This is what we love. We love the lovely little coffee clutch here. But they move retire, pass on. You know, they'll come back good stuff. Keep up the good work. I mean, look 33 years of marriage, 30 years in business. You said you met at a diner years ago. I was the waitress, he was the waiter. I love it. Fantastic. Well, let, let's get a look at these sandwiches as making them up, of course, watch them back there. Really? Uh, they're looking good. Listen, we've been eating like Kings today. You look a little wobbly, Tony. I'm a lot wobbly. I feel like Adrian a rocky that's here is ice skating with rock. Patricia Lewandowski is here. This is roller magic. I'll tell you when I walked in here, I was blown away about how beautiful this place is. I mean, you want to have a kid's birthday party? This is where to go. Patricia. This place is fantastic. How long a business here now? Since 1958 since 1958? Wow. And you've been working here quite some time. Yeah, 18 years. So something's going right. I mean, this is, this is a big building, you know, and you obviously it's fantastic. It's so clean in here. Birthday party is your big thing. Yes, birthday party is private or public. We do schools, we do groups, we do lessons here. If you want to do lessons, I could use some lessons, we do private lessons, lessons, kids lessons and then we also do camps that's what's coming in in a little bit. We're going to have camps coming in. You know, this is usually Lauren do out here. This is, she's supposed to be on these skates right now. I'm watching her. Right. They send the old man out here, but the old man is getting it done. You, you see what I'm saying, Nick, I know Nick. Nick's new with our morning show. Nick. This is how it happens, baby. It's been 20 years of this. They sent Caputo out there to get it done. I'll tell you what Patricia this place is so fantastic dot com. Roller roller magic dot com. Because I'm telling you a lot of folks are going to see this and say, wow, I remember this as a kid. I used to go to a place called Roller Ra back at Bucks County when we were kids and to bring your kids to a birthday party like this folks can book online. Is that how it works? So they get to call you. I'm really impressed by this place. How great it is. The arcade. You got everything else. It's tables and it's dramatically clean, which I love. Fantastic. That's a credit to all of you and Caputo is yet to fall and split his head open. So we'll send it back to you main street and Lauren do anytime Kimberly Kravitz, this happens again. You guys are doing this. I'm too old for this.
