Our main street Long Island Series is back today. Yeah, every Monday we are highlighting our communities and this morning we're in Massapequa Park. Jen Selig is on Park Boulevard this morning and she's kicking things off at the Massapequa Park coffee house. Hey, Jen. Yes. Hey, yes, this is a place that a lot of people go to. It's been around for 17 years. So the coffee has to be good. I met Paul this morning, Paul. You said you're born and raised in Massapequa Park was born and raised? Ok. But you live here. You live a few blocks, 35 years. A long time you got a train to catch. But before you go, before you go anywhere, you got to get your coffee first every morning. What's so special about this town? Oh, man. Wait, how much time do you have my train? What's so special about the town community, people, people like Lorenzo and all the other, all the other, you know, down Boulevard and it's, it's, it's an amazing, an amazing town to live in. Really? We're right across from the train station. So I'll let you go. We got Lorenzo here you are. The co of the coffee shop and you see customers every single day, familiar faces. You guys know the orders. Obviously you guys are doing something good to keep bringing people back. Yeah, we, uh, we specialize in, in having fresh roasted coffee, different ones every day, specialty lattes, iced coffees and a lot of people like it a certain way. So we prepare for them and a lot of times they come in, we know exactly what they want. We have it ready for them already. So it's a neighborhood place. I know you were born and raised in Queens, but you have your whole family here. Kids went to high school here. There's something so special about being here. Right? Yeah, Massapequa is a great town. My son, I have twins that are 21 and an older one that 24. They all graduated Massapequa High School. They all went out to great universities and they still live here and uh they take the train like everyone else to go to the city now for work and they always come by and have a cup of coffee at the park first. All right. So let's get a cup of coffee. Right? I love my lattes in the morning. Always start the day off, but they're making it fresh here. So if you guys have to go, I'm gonna send it back to the studio and enjoy my cup of job. You enjoy that. It truly is. People like Paul and the Renzo that make the community up there. So there you go. All right. Main street, Long Island. It is back this morning. Yeah, we're dedicating our Mondays to showing off our communities across the island. And this morning it's Massapequa Park. Our Jen Selig is at Jam on Park Boulevard right now. Good morning, Jen. Hey, Rich and Erin. Yeah. Usually when I come here it's loud and busy. So it's kind of cool to just be here this morning with one of the managers here, Norris. You love everything about Massapequa Park. I know you just opened up for us for us to come, hang out here. What's the best part about being here? Uh Definitely the community. They are uh very, very sweet. They usually come in. We have a lot of regulars and they're usually very patient with us and they, we're usually super busy at like normally during the week on the weekends. And I would just say that the community is just overall, just very patient and loving and just, they always come back. There's no place like Jam. I mean, this is a hidden gem and right on Park Boulevard and this is some, a place where you see returning customers. You, you probably know some of their orders too. Oh my God. By heart. Everyone always raves about my memory. We have a lot of familiar faces that continue to come in and support us and even in our slower seasons, they will always still even get take out or they will usually like, sit in with us are due to go. So they're very, very supportive of us and they love Massapequa. They love Jam. They love Park Boulevard. There's a lot of local businesses here, but we, uh always get returning customers. What's the best part about being part of the local business right here on Park Boulevard? Uh I would just say just, I would say maybe the community, just the support, the love, the, uh you know, we've been here for 10 years, so it's just been ongoing with a lot of love and support and just the consistency of the love and support is what we probably appreciate the most. So let's make some breakfast right? Since we're the only two gals here and enjoy it. Yeah, let's go. You wanna take a look at the restaurant? Yeah, let's go. All right. It is main street Monday a day to highlight some of the island's best businesses. And today our Gens Lake is in Massapequa Park showing us what there is to see and do along Park Boulevard. We are ordering some lunch at the good life. And this is where Devin tells me that every hour is happy hour here. Right. That is true. Definitely. Um, we've got a huge, uh, craft beer list. If you're into that huge variety of stuff, we've got bottles and cans, the other bartenders and myself do a seasonal cocktail menu and our spring ones are out now and they're amazing. And I heard your food is amazing too. Food is so good. The burgers, the sandwiches, everybody comes in for the good life burger. I like the Mac attack Fried Mac and cheese on top. It's a great menu. And obviously you guys are doing something really good here because you're celebrating 14 years in business. That's right. People keep coming back. We have a really good time. The community is awesome. Our customers are great. Everyone, our staff. It's a great place. All right. So let's eat some lunch and then check out Park Boulevard. See what else it has to offer. There are plenty of places to go shopping here on Park Boulevard, including Nanny Rose boutique and then after shopping, let's go look for something sweet. Look at all the flavors of gelato. We have found the only spot on Park Boulevard where you can grab a bite of gelato. Alexa. What's the fan favorite? Rainbow Cookie has to be the top one we have shot, which is like a vanilla chip. Also a favorite. So we are in Dolcezza. You work here with your family. What's the best part about being part of this community? Well, all of us here. We're all family here. So, you know, all the families that come in, all the kids this summer, we're packed with all the different kids on the bikes and the parents come in. We're like a whole family here. So it's all nice. I'm assuming you get returning customers all the time, all the time. Familiar fleet faces all the time. Um, the kids come in and hang out and do homework if they want to, you know. So let's grab a bite, right? I'll try the Rainbow Cookie one because you said that's a fan favorite and send things back to you guys in.
