They recently celebrated 100 years of business, and Gennaro Jewelers in Bellmore makes beautiful custom jewelry pieces to last a lifetime.
News 12's Jenn Seelig shows us the process and how they're designed on this week's Made on Long Island.
Diamonds are a girl's best friend, and the staff at Gennaro Jewelers in Bellmore can re-create your diamond jewelry.
"Taking grandma’s diamond that maybe hasn't seen the light of day in years, taking it out of the drawer, designing something new and creating it so when the customer comes back to look at it -- they're absolutely stunned by the look,” says Gary Hudes, president of Gennaro Jewelers. Hudes got into the business in 1979 because he likes making things that can last forever. They also manufacture sterling silver, gold and platinum and make jewelry for first responders across the nation. "We are officially licensed by the City of New York, so we have the license to create NYPD and FDNY which is very unique. We also do Nassau County police and Suffolk County police," says Hudes.
For many more decades, the business hopes to continue to add their sparkle into every order.
