One local retired teacher traded in her chalk for markers and a paintbrush. Cathy Ann LoSchiavo makes custom plaques and signs and shares her love of crafting with her community.

LoSchiavo adds pizzazz to everything, especially when she's crafting. The retired teacher started Mosaic Magic. "I've been doing this for a long time, for many years, as far back as I can remember. This is a true passion of mine," said LoSchiavo.

LoSchiavo taught kindergarten for over 30 years. Now, she holds crafting events and birthday parties. She knows how to bring sparkle to wood signs and heartfelt messages to life through handmade crafts. "I work on 14-inch boards, and then I have 10-inch boards that I can paint white or the color of your choice, and I can put any saying, any picture -- using my mosaics," said LoSchiavo.

At first, LoSchiavo was making crafts for friends. Now she gets random orders and donates her work to local fundraisers. "When people come to me and request something, that's the greatest privilege — that's the magic for me," said LoSchiavo.
