Long Beach police: Two men arrested following beach party shooting
Two people have been arrested following a shooting in Long Beach early Monday morning, police say.
According to Long Beach police, a large crowd gathered on the beach and boardwalk near Edwards Boulevard Sunday night for a party that circulated on social media.
Around 11 p.m., police started ordering people off the beach. Shots rang out around 12:10 a.m. as people left.
Police say a group of men ran from the scene and one threw a gun and phone on the ground before being apprehended.
Police arrested Deandre Oats, 21, of Hempstead, with criminal possession of a weapon. Tyreek Williams, 18, of Hempstead, was also arrested for an active warrant.
An hour after, police say an intoxicated person was found with blood on his pants. The man, who said he was at the party, was transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound to his buttocks.
