A concert featuring Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr last month in New York City raised funds that could create transcendental mediation programs for students.
In addition to raising funds, the concert also drew attention to meditation and its benefits for adults and young people.
Oyster Bay High School is planning to use transcendental meditation to help students find themselves.
Dana Farley was diagnosed with ADD as a teenager. However, since being introduced to transcendental mediation, she says she has more drive and confidence in herself.
Oyster Bay High School hopes that by putting mediation into the school day for seventh-graders, it will help students the same way that it helped Farley. The school is looking into funding for the programs.
