A group
of Long Island volunteers stepped up to do what they could to make sure no
table was empty on Thanksgiving.
On Thanksgiving, she and her team of volunteers prepared over
180 meals to be donated to some Babylon residents who could use a little lift.
"They were made with so much love, the
whole community came together. It was really, really nice and special,”
McLaughlin says.
She says she and her crew worked for days to make the
homemade meals with care.
“I figured it's a great idea— we hit all the
town senior centers, a lot of families that need a meal, so it worked out
great,” says organizer Tom Gargiulo.
The team also delivered meals to those who were
working on the holiday.
Food donations came from residents and the
Suffolk County Conservative Group.
The volunteers plan on handing out more meals next month.
