People in downtown Huntington told News 12 that they are seeing more rats in the area lately.

Video sent to News 12 shows a group of rats on Thursday evening running around on West Carver Street near New York Avenue.

The Town of Huntington told News 12 that it has received numerous complaints from residents.

"It's disgusting. We don’t need rats here," said Courtney Gabriel, of Huntington.

“I think we’re just seeing more in town than we’ve seen in the past. I don’t know if it’s restaurants or whatever,” said Charlie DiPietro, of Huntington.

The town tells News 12 it has contacted Suffolk County for help with the rat problem. News 12 is waiting to hear back from the county about the issue.
