A new safe haven for families is coming to Stony Brook.
The Ronald McDonald House broke ground on a new location Tuesday at the children’s hospital.
This 30-bedroom house will provide shelter, food, a playroom and a comfortable environment while families are experiencing some of the most challenging times.
There are currently two Ronald McDonald family rooms at the hospital, but officials say the house will expand their mission.
Construction is expected to start later this year and officials hope it's open to serve families in 2026.
