Funeral held for Riverhead police dog killed in line of duty

The Riverhead police dog that was killed in the line of duty last weekend will be laid to rest Monday.
As News 12 reported, Rocky died last weekend when the K-9 vehicle he was riding in crashed on East Main Street. His car was chasing a driver who police say fled from a DWI checkpoint.
Police say the driver wanted in the chase has not been arrested.
Officials say Rocky had been with the department since 2011.
A funeral procession will take place at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park in Calverton.
