First-graders from the Homestead School in Garden City spread some holiday cheer Friday by singing tunes to residents at the Plattduetsche Home Society in Franklin Square.
The three first-grade classes were led by their music teacher and principal.
Principal Suzanne Viscovich says she would always sing to her grandparents as a child to bring them joy.
"The children know that they bring happiness to the senior citizens and in doing so it brings us, the children and all of us happiness, and we spread kindness during the holiday season."
The tradition of singing holiday tunes to seniors has been taking place for 10 years.
