A moment of silence was held in Nassau County on Memorial Day Monday to remember fallen heroes.

The ceremony took place at Morgan Memorial Park in Glen Gove.

At noon, Nassau firefighters and police officers sounded their sirens for 50 seconds. The Diocese of Rockville Centre also rang its church bells.

This is the third consecutive year the county has held this memorial.
