Fire crews responded to a three-alarm fire Saturday afternoon at a shopping center in Oceanside. Fire officials say it happened at 3346 Long Beach Rd. and Waukena Avenue just before 5:45 p.m. The Nassau County Fire Marshals says firefighters arrived to find heavy flames coming from the front of the building.
About 150 firefighters from 14 mutual aid departments were at the scene. Fire officials say the fire had been mostly contained to the store where it started as of Saturday night. The neighboring store, King Spa, suffered water and smoke damage.
No injuries were reported. A cause of the fire was not immediately known as of Saturday night.
