A family is recovering in the hospital after being hit by a car in Freeport, according to officials.

Police say a 39-year-old mother and her two daughters were struck when they tried to cross Lena Avenue, near North Main Street last night.

News 12 Long Island has learned the 8-year-old girl may have suffered a broken leg.

The 13-year-old daughter hurt her back.

The mother is in serious but stable condition with a head injury.

The driver is not facing any charges.
