Friends and family held a surprise baby shower for an expectant mother in Merrick who is in quarantine due to COVID-19.

Katie Rodriguez is seven months pregnant and was sick, but tested negative for the coronavirus. She is a nurse practitioner and is working on the front lines of the pandemic.

Rodriguez's family held a drive-by shower for her outside her home. One by one, cars passed by, honked their horns and dropped off presents.

Rodriguez has 12 brothers and sisters, several whom also work in medicine and tested positive for the virus. However, they are all recovering and doing well.
