DEC: 16 drums discovered at Bethpage Community Park shipped off-site for disposal

The original 16 drums discovered beneath Bethpage Community Park have been shipped off-site for disposal.
According to the state DEC, test results from the other six drums excavated last week are pending.
The DEC says that Northrop Grumman crews have started ‘stockpile sampling’ for waste characterization.
They will continue to test the soil that was found near the drums to determine how to dispose of it.
