A body was found floating next to a dock in a Bay Shore canal Friday.
Both police and the Coast Guard were on the scene to pull the body out of the water. The canal is located off Gibson street, between Maple and Ocean avenues.
Witnesses say the body was spotted by a boater.
Police are remaining tight-lipped on the corpse's identity and whether or not this is a murder case. An autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death.
