Four South Shore beaches reopen after shark spotted off Lido Beach
The shark was first spotted at Lido Beach around 11 a.m. and then again at Point Lookout.

A shark observed in the waters off of Lido Beach red flagged four Hempstead beaches for over an hour on Thursday.
The shark was first spotted at Lido Beach around 11 a.m. and then again at Point Lookout. Those beaches were red-flagged along with Malibu and Nickerson.
Swimming was suspended, but has since reopened since there have been no additional shark sightings made within the hour after closure.
