A 10-year-old West Hempstead boy is being credited with cleaning up an entire community park.

Connor Last says he wanted to clean up Halls Pond Park after seeing lots of dirt and debris in and around the pond while on a walk with his mother. Connor says he was concerned about the ducks not being able to swim due to the debris.

Connor then recruited his entire class to write letters to Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano, who was able to send the resources for the cleanup.

Since the cleanup, Connor and his mom say they've noticed more ducks in the pond.
