Parents in Centereach are preparing to make a push tonight to keep full-day kindergarten for their children.
Officials with the Middle Country School District have been considering cutting back kindergarten to a half-day in an effort to help reduce a projected $10 million budget deficit.
Local parents have been collecting petitions to save full-day classes. Tonight, they will attend a school board meeting and budget workshop at Newfield High School.
