Film and television actor Gary Sinise and his Lt. Dan Band performed for the midshipmen at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point on Saturday.

The event also featured a homecoming weekend celebration with a regatta and their football team played against Western Connecticut State University. The academy won 44-27.

Sinise told News 12 that this was his first time on campus after previously visiting the four other federal service academies. He and his band will perform at West Point on Sunday, so he reached out to the vice admiral at Kings Point and asked if he could come to perform.
