The multi-day search for a missing teenager ended tragically after his body was recovered from the Delaware River on Monday.

The victim was identified as 19-year-old Jason Blanco of Flemington, New Jersey.

According to a preliminary investigation, the incident began Friday, July 3, at about 9:41 p.m., when State Police received reports of a missing person on the Delaware River in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County.

Investigators say Blanco had been tubing on the river when he got off the tube, entered the water and failed to resurface.

Troopers launched a search operation with the New Jersey State Police Marine Services Bureau and assistance from multiple local emergency agencies. Despite searching late Friday night, rescue teams were unable to locate him.

The search continued through Saturday, July 4, as Marine Services units combed the river, but the teenager remained missing.

On Monday morning, July 6, a civilian boater spotted Blanco’s body in a shallow section of the Delaware River near the Riverview Parking Area.

Authorities said the incident remains under active investigation, and no additional information is currently available.
