Police say a 17-year-old has been arrested and is accused of stealing from a Target in North New Hyde Park.
Detectives say the teen took an item from the electronics department before leaving without paying.
The teen dropped the item during a struggle with a worker before running off around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say the teen also had a knife on him.
The 17-year-old is facing robbery and weapons charges.
