A man accused of torturing and killing a cat was arrested Friday in Lakeview.

Police say they responded to a home on Park Avenue at 12 p.m. for a reported disturbance.

Once inside, they found a cat that “had been cruelly tortured and killed.”

Authorities say 26-year-old Azzm Khan is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, torturing animals and failure to provide sustenance.

He is scheduled to face a judge on July 3.
