The original Zorn's, the famous family-run eatery in Bethpage, has closed after more than 80 years in business.
The Hempstead Turnpike location served its final customer at 8 p.m. Customers were coming in right up until the very end to get their favorite eats.
Owner Merrill Zorn calls the moment "surreal" and "bittersweet," adding that the closure hasn't sunken in yet.
Zorn says any leftover food will be donated Friday to Island Harvest and The INN.
Customers won't have to wait too long to chomp on their favorite dishes again. Zorn's will be opening its new location right next door to the old one.
The plan is to have the new spot open by Wednesday.
