A Wilton family and the organization “In A Heartbeat” are teaming up to spread awareness about heart conditions in youth.
Wilton High School student-athlete George DiRocco suddenly died in September due to an undetected heart condition.
Over 260 people signed their children up to get evaluated for undetected heart conditions, and DiRocco's father, Arthur, checked each one in before receiving an EKG.
The patient was hooked up with EKG electrode pads, and results are read directly after by a cardiologist on site.
In A Heartbeat has screened over 600 people with hopes to continue this education and awareness in other communities.
