West Babylon alumnus gives back to program that helped him when his family was in need

Michael Krass is a successful businessman, a co-owner of KC’s Pizza N Wings and other businesses.

High school was a rocky time for the West Babylon alumnus.

“When I was in eighth grade, my dad passed away, he had pancreatic cancer, so coming into freshman year of high school, my life was kind of different, all over the place,” Krass told News 12.

Finances were tight.

The family received Christmas gifts via the West Babylon school district’s Adopt-A-Family program — and Krass has not forgotten that.

The 25-year-old now adopts local families every year, buying clothing, games and toys for those in need of a little help.

Krass said he never liked the holidays growing up.

“I wanted something to look forward to in my adult life, so this is kind of my way to build a new tradition for myself and my future family," he said.
