Dust off your eclipse glasses from years ago because today there will be a partial solar eclipse that can be viewed from Long Island.
Not only will that be happening in the sky, but its the annual peak of the Perseid meteor shower.
The partial eclipse is expected to happen around 1 p.m., while the shower will peak in the early hours of Thursday.
A few parks will be staying open for residents to see the two celestial events.
They include West End 2 at Jones Beach State Park, Field 3 at Sunken Meadow State Park, the upper parking lot at Montauk Point State Park, Field 1 at Wildwood State Park, the main parking lot at Orient Beach State Park, and the upper parking lot at Hallock State Park Preserve.
State parks says viewing is best in an open and dark space.
