The proposed redevelopment of Hicksville's Broadway Commons mall moved a step closer to reality Tuesday after receiving key approvals.

The Town of Oyster Bay approved permits for an indoor recreation facility and a gas station at the site.

As previously reported, the $200 million project would redevelop the mall into The Shops on Broadway, an open-air lifestyle and retail destination.

If proposal is approved, construction could begin as early as next year.
