Man killed, two others hurt in North Patchogue crash

Suffolk police say a 79-year-old woman was driving southbound on Waverly Avenue when she crashed with another vehicle turning left onto Buckley Road.

A collision left one man dead and two other people hurt late Thursday night in North Patchogue.

Suffolk police say a 79-year-old woman was driving southbound on Waverly Avenue at 10:10 p.m. when she crashed with another vehicle turning left onto Buckley Road.

The woman was hospitalized with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Her passenger, 45-year-old Hilton Spokony, was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Police say the other driver involved was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
