Some Long Islanders are upset about a "Jeopardy!" question that used an incorrect community name in Nassau County.
The question that appeared on the show was, "A type of institution that has a 'row' in Garden City on Long Island, including one about firefighting and a children's one."
The answer was referring to Museum Row, but it is not located in Garden City. It is located in Uniondale.
"It was even more infuriating because "Jeopardy!" didn't even attempt to put the east part, they just put Garden City, so it's incorrect and, you know, it's a battle we continue to fight every day," says Olena Nicks, of Uniondale.
Nicks reached out to the office of Nassau County Legislator Siela Bynoe, who wrote a letter to the executive producer of "Jeopardy!"
The letter said in part, "For many years, Uniondale community leaders have fought to ensure their hometown receives the full recognition that it deserves from government and media organizations," Bynoe wrote.
It went on to say that "Often the great things about Uniondale are not shown, and when it gets separated in such a way where it's East Garden City/Uniondale then it creates even more of those disparities that we see."
Nicks say her local legislator has not heard back from "Jeopardy!" She says she wants a public apology from the show on TV.
