After what turned out to be an amazing weather day with warmer-than-average temperatures, it will continue to be nice this evening and overnight with a mainly clear sky and temperatures dropping into the upper 50s and lower 60s.
Friday is still the pick of the week! It will be another mainly sunny and warm day. The record for tomorrow's date is 85 degrees, set back in 1983. Islip MacArthur Airport, where official weather records are kept for Long Island, will likely fall just a couple of degrees shy of this number. It is close, though. The forecasted high temperature is 83 degrees.
It will cool all the way down into the upper 60s to low 70s over the weekend. The normal average high temperature is 74 degrees. That all said, fall officially arrives on Monday afternoon and temperatures will be warming back up into the upper 70s for a few days next week.
Stay tuned for important weather updates for the Ryder Cup next week on Long Island! There is a chance for a few showers late in the week, but right now the forecast remains more dry than wet.
