Police say a speeding car crashed on the Southern State Parkway in West Babylon, killing both the driver and passenger Saturday.
According to state police, as 23-year old Tyrone Judd, of Queens, was speeding in the westbound lane when he lost control of his car between exits 36 and 37 and hit a tree in the median around 3 a.m. Police say the impact of the crash tore the car into three pieces killing Judd and his passenger, 22-year old Robert Winston, of Laurelton.
Police say a piece of the wreckage hit another driver in the eastbound lane. That driver survived. Both sides of the Southern State Parkway were closed for nearly seven hours during the accident investigation.
