East Hampton High School has become the third Long Island school in a week to receive a threat of violence.
School officials say an administrator received an e-mail stating that three devices would be set off in the building Thursday. The school contacted police and posted an advisory on its Web site for students. Police searched the campus grounds Wednesday night and two patrol cars remained at the school overnight. Officers also greeted students at the entrances to the building to search bags.
East Hampton High School officials say the building is safe and an investigation is on-going. Meanwhile, police are still investigating the threats at Centereach High School and Holy Trinity High School in Hicksville.
