Police in Orange are actively searching for a suspect who allegedly fled from the scene of a crash involving a stolen vehicle.
The incident began Tuesday afternoon on Derby Avenue.
Authorities say a Honda Accord was speeding, drove through a red light at the intersections of Birchwood and Racebrook roads and crashed into a Honda CR-V.
The driver of the CR-V suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Following the crash, both men in the Accord apparently ran from the scene.
Police learned the Accord was stolen from Derby.
While authorities searched for the the suspects, Amity Middle School and the Southern Connecticut Hebrew Academy were placed on lockdown.
Police later found a 16-year-old from New Haven in the backyard of a home on Oakwood Drive.
He faces several charges, including larceny of a motor vehicle, interfering with police and credit card theft.
