Police say five people responsible for a series of recent home invasions are now behind bars. The suspects are accused of invading homes in Coram, East Moriches, Mount Sinai and Ridge. Police say the suspects would break into the homes early in the morning, armed with a shotgun. The suspects arrested were identified as Cal Daniels, 19, Cynthonia Shewprashad, 19, and Michael Pagan, 21, of Ridge, and Amanda Rosado, 16, and Emanuel Thompson, 18, of Coram. One person who claims his family's home was one of those robbed says the suspects put a gun to his father's chest and assaulted him. He says the suspects made off with cell phones and a computer, and cut the phone lines of the home.
Police say the group?s most violent assault happened during an East Moriches robbery. The group beat a female victim in the head with a hammer, according to investigators. Police say the woman needed 80 stitches for the wounds. The suspects are scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Friday, but police say there may be more suspects on the loose. Police say they're concerned about the possibility of retaliation against the alleged victims due to Pagan?s alleged ties to the Bloods.
