Suffolk police: Impaired driver caused North Amityville multi-car crash

Police say 26-year-old Tristan McLaughlin was driving on Route 110 around 8:30 p.m. when he rear-ended Juan Espinal Torres's car as he was waiting to make a left turn.

Suffolk police say they arrested a driver for driving high and causing a multi-car pileup Saturday night in North Amityville.
Police say 26-year-old Tristan McLaughlin was driving on Route 110 around 8:30 p.m. when he rear-ended Juan Espinal Torres's car as he was waiting to make a left turn.
Officers say Torres' car went flying into the oncoming lanes and into two other vehicles that were stopped at a red light at Lindy Avenue.
Police say Torres is in serious condition but no one else was hurt.
McLaughlin, who is from Seaford, is now charged with driving under the influence of drugs.
