Suffolk PD: 19-year-old charged with murder in Port Jefferson shooting

A 19-year-old man from Port Jefferson Station has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the fatal shooting of a in Downtown Port Jefferson earlier this week, Suffolk police says.
News 12 reported on Wednesday that the shooting happened at 3:30 p.m. on Main Street near West Broadway, in front of a Dunkin' location.
Police said they believed the incident began as an argument, then escalated.
David Bliss was identified of the victim of the fatal shooting. Suffolk Police Detective Lt. Kevin Beyrer said that police did not believe it was a random attack.
Joseph Garcia was charged with second-degree murder and scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday in Central Islip.
