SNOWSTORM: Periods of heavy snowfall will spread across the area, bringing widespread impacts overnight into Sunday morning. Warmer air will move onto the island, changing the snowfall into a mix of snow sleet/freezing rain developing into Sunday early morning. This could result in some areas having icy spots. It could also lower some snow totals.
SUNDAY: Expect the roads to initially still be slick. A few snow showers could linger for areas of the North Shore and on the East End early Sunday morning, but this will end rather quickly. Approaching the afternoon, skies will begin to clear and temperatures will rise above freezing.
NEXT WEEK: There is another chance for multiple storm system to impact the region. Tuesday night into Wednesday we are keeping an eye on a system that could bring more snow with another small system on Thursday and for the weekend. We will continue to keep a close eye on these systems over the next couple of days as details become a lot clearer.
