The Connecticut State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in West Haven on Thursday.

Officials said it happened during an investigation on Boston Post Road around 5 p.m.

A state police sergeant and a New Haven police officer fired shots, causing injury to a suspect during the investigation, according to initial reports by state police.

Police said the scene has been secured, and there is no active threat to the public.

No officers were injured during the investigation.

Officers said the suspect displayed a firearm during the investigation.

The shooting is being investigated by the Office of the Inspector General and the New Haven State's Attorney.
