A big boost is coming to Long Island’s electric grid.
Gov. Kathy Hochul and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand announced that $405 million in federal funding will go toward enhancing the electrical transmission system across Long Island.
It includes stronger utility poles, better wires, and an increased workforce.
The project will take five years to complete.
