The state has established a new fellowship program to honor the life of Scott Martella.
Martella, a former aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, was one of six people killed in a multivehicle crash on the Long Island Expressway back in August.
The 29-year-old was a big believer in public service, so the state will select a student who shares that same commitment.
The student selected will be mentored for two years at the state Department of Labor.
