A driver for adults with developmental disabilities is facing additional charges for a DWI crash in Freeport, according to a law enforcement source.
The AHRC minivan driver is accused of
driving drunk and crashing into a double-parked truck on Albany Avenue. She called police to report the incident and was arrested by officers responding to the scene.
A law enforcement source told News 12 that she has also been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a disabled or incompetent person.
Court documents state that her blood alcohol level was initially double the legal limit but lowered to just below the limit several hours later.
Authorities say the two AHRC adults inside the vehicle were not hurt in the crash.
