The
Shimmering Solstice is open until Jan. 1 to give
visitors a dazzling light show in Old Westbury Gardens.
The show is over a mile-long trail and highlights the
landscape of Old Westbury Gardens.
“It’s very elegant and it’s in the keeping with the style of
Old Westbury Gardens that sets it apart from other light shows,”
says Maura Brush from Old Westbury Gardens. “It’s really bigger and better than
last year. We got a beautiful quarter-mile of hemlock hedge draped in twinkle
lights which makes it a beautiful back drop for family photographs.”
Along with the light show, visitors can grab snacks
and enjoy them by the fire.
“Hopefully this will become a new holiday tradition for
people,” says Brush. “It’s a very enchanting experience and that's what we want
people to take with them when they leave.”
