FORECAST: Islip Airport hit 100 degrees on Tuesday. It's the hottest June day on record and the first time we hit 100 since July 22, 2011.
It will be warm and muggy, with lows near 75 degrees overnight.
Wednesday won't be as hot, but the heat wave continues with highs in the low 90s. Feels-like temperatures will be in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees.
There will be a chance for isolated showers and possibly a thunderstorm Wednesday night into Thursday, with cooler temperatures on the way.
Thursday will be mostly cloudy with hit-and-miss showers and highs near 75 degrees.
Friday is even cooler, with highs in the lows 70s.
It's shaping up to be a 50/50 weekend with a few showers on Saturday followed by nicer weather on Sunday, with seasonable temperatures and highs near 80 degrees.
