An East Meadow man has written a book about his experience in German-occupied France when he was just 9 years old.

Roger de Anfrasio authored "A Garden of Thorns," which chronicles his memoirs of Dijon, France during the beginnings of World War II.

The East Meadow resident says he was moved to write the book because of memories of his friend Joeh Eisenberg, who was taken away by German soldiers. Until this day, he doesn't know if Eisenberg is alive or dead.

A documentary is being produced based on "A Garden of Thorns" and a film version is in production.
