Cuteness levels have officially surged at Cape May County Zoo as "Ember" the red panda has made her debut.

The 9-month-old red panda arrived earlier this month and is still getting used to her surroundings, the zoo said in a social media post.

"Keepers say she is curious, yet cautious, and she is getting used to her new surroundings. She loves all her enrichment and especially enjoys making a mess," the post said.

Ember's previous home was the Trevor Lovejoy Zoo at Millbrook School in Millbrook, New York. Now, she's charming visitors and keepers in the panda yard and her indoor space at the Cape May Zoo. She joins the zoo's current red panda, Aurora.

Red pandas are endemic to the Eastern Himalayan Mountains in Asia. They live in forests and primarily eat bamboo.

"Red pandas were recorded and named 50 years before giant pandas, making them the original panda," the Cape May Zoo said.

Visitors can see Ember and Aurora at the zoo from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.
